Reflecting the contemporary style of the new-build property and inspired by its coastal setting, the design fuses clean lines and smooth contemporary materials with local stacked slate features and naturalistic planting. Being a development property, the garden needed to be of sufficiently flexible design to suit all potential buyers, offering a range of multi-functional spaces. The introduction of terracing offers comfortable separation between areas and a system of curves give the illusion of extra width in the linear space.

The natural hard materials are minimalist and high quality and echo the aesthetic of the dwelling and local vernacular. Plantings reflect the local native ecology, being robust enough to withstand the rigor of its coastal climate and ensuring sustainability.
